City of Katy Mayor Fabol Hughes, Councilman Bill Lawton for Ward A and Councilman Jimmy Mendez for Ward B were declared as elected for another term each at the city’s regular meeting held March 9.
All three candidates were running unopposed in the upcoming May election.
The election for their posts was cancelled when no one filed to run against the incumbents by the Feb. 27 deadline.
Hughes was elected Mayor in 2013 with 51 percent of the vote after having first served as a council member for the city.
Lawton was elected to the council in 2011 and previously ran uncontested in 2013. Mendez received 53 percent of the vote for the Ward B seat in 2013.
