Emma Sticklen reached four championship finals, bringing home a gold medal and a silver medal to lead Katy Aquatics Team for Youth at the 2018 Speedo Winter Junior Championships-West, last month at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin. Sticklen won the West championship in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 52.29 seconds for a .16-second victory. She was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle with a 22.63, trailing only a 22.48. The Katy Taylor junior also finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.05) and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (53.75). Katy Aquatics placed 17th in the women’s standings out of 77 scoring teams.
