Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital has been the Official Healthcare Provider of Katy ISD’s Athletic teams for almost 11 years. During this partnership, healthcare professionals have been covering the district’s varsity home games and all other District-wide sports events to ensure athletes receive quick and quality care. Memorial Hermann has also provided the athletes with valuable information such as sports nutrition and human performance. For the past 12 years, Memorial Hermann Katy has awarded Katy ISD high school students for the service they have provided to the district’s athletic programs at their own high schools.

The Falls at Green Meadows Community is pleased to announce that a Katy High School student is one of this year’s recipients for the Memorial Hermann Katy Sports Medicine Scholarship! Sabrina Haagenson has received $500 to go toward her major in Physical Therapy at Marietta College. For students, receiving support in any way makes an enormous difference in their motivation to pursue a career path. This scholarship provides students an incentive to learn more about athletic healthcare and the medical industry. The best part about this field is that students will be able to take what they have learned and apply it into other medical branches, as well.

Sports medicine focuses on physical fitness, and aims to prevent and treat injuries from all forms of sports and exercise. This field requires physicians to stay hyperaware in order to handle sports injuries on the field as quickly as possible. Falls at Green Meadows is very pleased that the high school the community is zoned to offers an exceptional education for students who want to pursue this demanding and rewarding career.
