Katy ISD is taking steps to ensure their student’s safety during state testing by limiting the number of students on campus for those days.
The district has submitted a request to the Texas Education Agency for 40% campus hybrid instruction for students ninth through 12th-grade. This would permit students not testing to learn remotely from home on the scheduled testing days.
KISD has voted to apply for waivers through TEA that allow kindergarten through 8th-grade non-testing students the ability to learn remotely at home on scheduled testing days.
The waivers are applicable for STAAR, EOC and SAT testing days in April and May. Campuses will be better prepared to meet safety protocols while meeting testing requirements.
