Katy ISD has officially started the 2020-21 school year with virtual learning for the initial three weeks. The district is ensuring that all families are able to access and participate in the online instruction. Over 25, 000 requests have been sent for technological devices.
Prior to the first day, Katy ISD checked-out thousands of devices, including Chromebooks, laptops, iPads and hotspots. In order to ensure a successful school year, Katy ISD is also offering free/reduced internet options, technology support and parent orientations.
The option of face-to-face instruction is planned to begin on September 8, however, the district anticipates approximately 43,000 students will remain online.
