Katy Organizations in Need of Assistance

As a whole, our communities are doing their part by staying home and slowing the spread of the coronavirus.  Many members of the community seek to do more whether it’s volunteering, fostering animals, or donating. Here are some local options in the Katy-area that are seeking assistance.

Christ Clinic - In addition to monetary donations, this community medical clinic is in need of medications, toiletries, office supplies and medical supplies.

Friends of Sundown - Friends of Sundown is a local nonprofit chapter of Attack Poverty. They are seeking volunteers to assist in food distribution on Wednesday mornings. In addition to monetary donations, they are in need of baby formula, toilet paper, masks, and gloves.

The Hangar Unity Center  - Brookshire food pantry at The Fellowship, located  at 22265 Westheimer Pkwy is accepting food donations.

Hope Impacts - This nonprofit organization assists the homeless in the Katy area. They are in need of Bibles, toiletries, paper goods, cleaning items, clothing, bus cards, tents and more. Hope Impacts is also seeking volunteers and mentors. Items can be dropped off at 802 Dominion Dr, Ste. 900, Katy.

Katy Area Chamber of Commerce Coronavirus Relief Fund - A GoFundMe account has been created to assist struggling local businesses in the Katy area. The Chamber plans to match portions of the funds raised. 

Katy Christian Ministries - In addition to monetary donations, Katy Christian Ministries is taking donations of nonperishable foods and disposable masks for pantry workers. They are also asking for volunteers.

MKT Distillery to manufacture more sanitizer - This local distillery is manufacturing hand sanitizer to assist First Responders and community members. Residents are offered two free bottles of hand sanitizer when they drive through the distillery on Saturdays between noon and 6 p.m. MKT Distillery is asking for monetary donations to continue providing this assistance

Nursing homes - Donations of sanitizer, wipes, isolation gowns, masks and paper products can be dropped off at the Katy Police Department at 5456 Franz Rd, Katy or Katy Christian Ministries at 5504 First St., Katy.

Pregnancy Help Center of West Houston - This organization is in need of diapers, baby toiletries and wipes to assist new moms. They are encouraging that residents order items online and ship them to the center at 1450 E. Summitry Cir, Katy.

Help animals at local shelters - Special Pals and Citizens for Animal Protection are seeking animal fosters. They are also taking donations of cleaning supplies, food and toys.
