November ushers in two nature activities to the Katy Prairie with a community service prairie restoration project and the Wild West Tour “Fall Feathers” with Master Naturalist Glenn Olsen, both sponsored by the Katy Prairie Conservancy (KPC).
On Nov. 15, the public is invited to help KPC “Putting Down Roots” during the largest restoration effort yet on the Katy Prairie. Volunteers will work together to transplant native prairie plants in order to restore 55 acres of newly reconstructed prairie habitat at Indiangrass Preserve. Planting will take place around the new mile and a half-long trail system.
