The eight-time state championship Katy football team is preparing for the state semi-finals following their win against Clear Falls in the Division II Region III championship match. Two more wins will land the Tigers (12-1) their ninth state title.
This years season had its ups and downs with COVID and changing schedules. The Tigers also experienced their first district loss in 12 years. To finally get to the semifinals is a compliment to them, and what they’ve done to fight COVID, and fight the other things we had to fight through this year.”
The Tigers will play Buda Hays Saturday at 2 p.m. at McLane Stadium in Waco. If the Tigers win against Buda Hays, they will be entering into their 15th state championship final.
Good luck Tigers!
