Tagged in:

Katy ISD will celebrate the KEYS mentoring program, while supporting KEYS Scholarships, at Ties & Tiaras on March 6.

This fun-filled event is set  from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Agave Road, 1016 FM 1463 in Katy. In addition to honoring the 2014 Mentors of the Year and KEYS Scholarship Sponsors, entertainment will be provided by Katy ISD high school show choirs, the Taylor High School Pacesetter Officers and the Katy High School Jazz Band. Also joining the event will be the nine Seven Lakes High School student artists who created this year’s KEYS scholarship masterpiece.

The annual Ties & Tiaras event honors Katy ISD’s family of mentors who spend one hour each week with their students. Revenue from ticket sales, along with support from local corporate sponsors, benefits the KEYS Scholarship Fund.

Since its inception in 2006, the KEYS Scholarship Fund has awarded $139,000 to graduating KEYS seniors. KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success)  is an initiative that matches a deserving child with a caring adult. The two meet each week on campus, during the school day, during the school year.
