August 22 not only marked the beginning of the 2016-17 school year, it also marked the beginning of Dr. Lance Hindt's superintendency for Katy Independent School District. After a thorough search for just the right person for the job, Hindt was chosen by the school board for his character and ability to move the district forward.
Hindt is an alum of Katy ISD himself, having graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 1983. He then went on to receive degrees from William Penn University and Prairie View A&M University, as well as his doctorate from the University of Houston. He previously served as the Superintendent for Stafford ISD, as well. Hindt said that as Katy ISD continues to grow, he hopes to ensure that each child that walks through district doors continues to receive the highest quality education.
