Houston Arboretum & Nature Center chosen as recipient for Whole Foods' "Give 5% Day"

Whole Foods Market has recently named the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center as a recipient of Whole Foods Post Oak's "Give 5% Day," which will be hosted on Feb. 24. "Give 5% Day" is a day where Whole Foods Post Oak gives a generous five percent of its net income for the day to a designated recipient. Houston Arboretum officials said they are "thrilled" to have been chosen as this year's recipient and will be staffing a table at Whole Foods Post Oak on Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. 9 p.m. with handouts and information. Angel the therapy dog recognized by City of Houston

During a ceremony at Houston City Hall, a frequent visitor to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital was awarded a great honor. However, this wasn't an ordinary visitor to the hospital - it was Angel, a therapy dog with Faithful Paws. Angel, a golden retriever, visits over 100 hospitals a year, one of which is Memorial Hermann Southwest. Mayor Annise Parker and Houston City Council member David W. Hospital Houston Methodist begins buyout of CHRISTUS St. Catherine

Houston Methodist has formally begun the process of taking majority ownership of CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital in Katy and will likely transition it into a post-acute care facility. The two companies have entered into a letter of intent and are negotiating the terms of the deal though they would not disclose the financial details, according to Stefanie Asin, communications director for Houston Methodist.
