UIL Changes Impact Katy ISD

Tagged in:

Do you have an athlete at Katy ISD? The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has recently announced a revision for guidelines to the 2020-21 school year. Texas is known for their football, and these changes in schedules make a direct impact to Katy ISD’s fall season.

Class 5A and 6A conferences are delayed for 5 weeks effective August 1, while class 1A - 4A maintains their original schedules.

Katy ISD has moved practice start dates for volleyball and football to September 7, more than a month later than planned. The revised schedule allows games to begin on September 24.

UIL Executive Director, Dr . Charles Breithaupt acknowledges likely interruptions to the season, but hopes the new plan allows students to participate in their sport while maintaining safety.

Katy ISD is appreciative of the continued support and patience from their community as we all adjust to changes.
