Gifted and Talented Parent Awareness Session on Nov. 25

Katy Tiger Band seeking public's help to buy equipment trailer

The Katy Tiger Band needs the community to help raise money to purchase a trailer to carry the band's equipment.

The goal is $20,000, of which $6,000 has already been raised.   Any donation that is made towards the trailer will be recognized on a plaque in the band hall.

Voters to see new voter ID laws enforced for November elections

New voter identification laws in Texas—passed by the state Legislature in 2011—will be enforced in the November 2013 election. The laws are being enforced by Attorney General Greg Abbott on the heels of a June 25 Supreme Court decision striking down a key part of the Voting Rights Act.

Work on Cane Island Parkway project could begin next month

Work on the much-anticipated Cane Island Parkway could begin as soon as November, according to Katy City Administrator Johnny Nelson. This initial phase of the parkway is projected to run north from I-10 to Highway Boulevard in Old Town Katy. Eventually, the parkway will be extended northward to Morton Road, said Nelson.

Hospital Houston Methodist begins buyout of CHRISTUS St. Catherine

Cane Island to be City's first master-planned community

Trader Joe's coming to LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch

The specialty grocery store Trader Joe's plans to build a location at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, according to a statement released this week by the California-based chain.
