Katy High School's head coach of the football program, Coach Gary Johnson, has recently received the honor of being chosen as a 2016 inductee to the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. The Katy Tigers didn't just claim the Texas High School title over the weekend. They were named national champs in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national football rankings.
Katy went into the championship weekend as the third-ranked team nationally, but their dominant 34-7 win over previously unbeaten Lake Travis vaulted them to the top spot in the country.
