The 2018 Best School Districts rankings have been announced and looks like "The Best is in the West" for the Greater Houston area, with Katy Independent School District taking the top spot. Niche, a ranking and review organization for K-12 schools, assesses school districts across America every year. Sweet Paris Crêperie & Cafê will open in the spring at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. The 80-seat, 1,824-square-foot restaurant will be located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd., Ste. S120, Katy, and serve sweet and savory crepes. Breakfast crepes will be available until 3 p.m. daily. Salads, soups, paninis and milkshakes are also planned for the menu.

Just in time for marathon season, Good Times Running Co., a running and walking accessories store, opened at 22764 Westheimer Parkway, Ste. 650, Katy, on. The fitness shop carries running shoes, apparel, nutrition supplements, hydration accessories and injury prevention equipment. 832-437-7745.
On Sunday, December 17th, Woodtrace residents were treated to the 2017 Santa Stop event. The free day of fun featured a free keepsake photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There was also a letters to Santa station, free Java Pura hot cocoa and coffee and sweet treats.
Gehan Homes donated a Texans themed door prize for the event and there was also a drawing for a $100 AmEx gift card,.
Hurts Donuts, a specialty doughnut chain from Springfield, Missouri, opened its first Greater Houston area shop in Katy on Wednesday. The store is located at The Shoppes at Cinco Ranch, 9555 Spring Green Blvd., Katy. Hurts is known for its wide variety of doughnuts topped with ingredients such as breakfast cereal, bacon bits and candy. The store is open 24 hours.

Chloe’s Closet, a resale children’s boutique, reopened recently at 805 Avenue B, Katy. The store originally opened Aug. 25 but took on water during Tropical Storm Harvey and was forced to close for repairs. Owned by husband-and-wife team Carlton and Hannah Hereford, the store sells used children’s clothing for infants through size 18, and plans to expand its junior sizes in the future. Pizza Cucinova is expected to open a new location at 94 W. Grand Parkway S., Ste. 200, Katy, on Dec. 5. This will be the second location for franchise. The gourmet pizza chain, based in Ohio, offers a variety of meats, cheeses and sauce options as well as gluten-free items. Stop in this holiday season!
